Dental Assistant Duties
Great patients as they arrive for dental treatment
Review, update medical history, patient insurance and billing information
Educate patient’s on recommended oral hygiene according to the dentist
Provides information to patients by answering dental treatment questions and concerns
Supports Dental Care by preparing patients for treatment and surgery
Performs procedures in compliance with the Dental Practice Act
Assembles instrumentation by sterilizing and delivering instruments to treatment area, positioning instruments for dentist’s access, suctioning, and passing instruments
Provides diagnostic information by taking radiographs, document patient dental care by charting in patient charts
Maintains patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential by HIPPA guidelines
Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and OSHA protocol
Qualifications for Dental Assistant
Graduate of an accredited school of Dental Assistant
Certified by the Dental Board to work in the state
Current CPR and OSHA certification
1 years of experience working in a dental practice
Excellent interpersonal and Computer Skills
Must have knowledge of Dental Software
