Our Dierks, Arkansas lumber mill is seeking a Mobile Shop Mechanic to service our fleet of heavy-duty industrial equipment. This is a full-time, hourly position with an excellent benefits package that reports to our maintenance department. Our state-of-the-art mill produces high-quality lumber used for residential construction throughout the country. We are proud of our reputation for manufacturing excellence and continuous improvement!Key Functions:

This position requires a sense of urgency in terms of maximizing production by troubleshooting and repairing complex mechanical/electrical problems as well as performing preventative maintenance on equipment.

Provide support for facility equipment and rolling stock (including vehicles, forklifts and specialized heavy equipment) in a safe manner, while contributing to corporate, plant, and departmental goals.

Work with another team members, millwrights, and electricians to troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical and electrical problems.

High School diploma/GED.

18 years of age or older.

Valid Driver's License and clean driving record - must be maintained.

3-5 years heavy mechanical repair experience, or education/work experience equivalent.

Experience reading and interpreting blueprints.

Basic computer skills.

Ability to complete required paperwork.

Demonstrated ability to work under limited supervision.

Legally eligible to work in the United States.

Work scheduled weekends and holidays (overtime and nights as needed).

Successfully pass pre-employment drug test, background and motor vehicle record check.

Preferred Qualifications

Two years of diesel mechanic experience.

Completion of a mechanical vocational or trade school program.Basic Competencies:

Verbal comprehension (Understand oral and written communicationsboth general and technical).

Communication skills (provide clear instructions/directions.

Reasoning skills (problem solving and troubleshooting skills).

Mechanical aptitude.

Physical Requirements:

Heavy work, lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.

Stoop/bend/kneel/crouch/crawl/balance/climb.

Exposure to equipment that intensifies the heat factor on an occasional basis.

Employment Conditions:

Work safely to prevent accidents and injuries.

Wear protective equipment such as hearing protection, safety-toe boots, or safety glasses.

Must pass a background screening.
