GENERAL SUMMARY:Directs and coordinates pullet, breeder, and hatchery operations to ensure the delivery of a quality product.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Performs daily, weekly, and monthly evaluations of pullet, breeder, and hatchery performance as it relates to live costs.
Train and develop supervisors and field technicians.
Directs the administration of complex and company programs for the rearing of pullets and breeders for all contract producers.
Directs the administration of complex and company programs for hatchery operations as they relate to hatch performance and chick quality.
Communicates daily with the Live Operations Manager on all performance issues.
Monitors adherence to established programs by personnel and contractors.
Monitors day-to-day flock health.
Plans and directs pullet placements according to complex needs.
Directs weekly performance and safety meetings with field technicians.
Communicates regularly with Technical and Veterinary Services groups.
Maintain accurate hatch egg projections to ensure future egg sets and chick placements will meet weekly plant head count needs.
EXPERIENCE:Typically requires 5 years of directly related experience in poultry grow-out operations.
Experience with varying size grow out flocks and breeds
Minimum of 3 years managing others.
Computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook). SAP experience preferred.
Strong communication skills.
EDUCATION:Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION:Current driver’s license and good driving record.EOE/M/F/Vet/Disabled
