CDL Class A Truck Driver Requirements:

  • Valid CDL with tank endorsement in your state of residence

  • Hazmat endorsement required in some locations

  • Minimum 6 months' verifiable experience driving a diesel-powered tractor-trailer combination with a minimum of 5 axles

  • Minimum age of 21

  • No more than 1 at-fault automobile crash in the past 3 years

  • No preventable DOT-recorded accident in the past 3 years

  • No more than 2 traffic citations or a combination of 1 highway “at fault” accident or 2 citations within the last 2 years. Both public and private commercial vehicles are included.

  • Must be able to pass a road test
