Mechanical Engineer, MidKey Role:

Provides mechanical engineering support for the development, operation, maintenance, and testing of complex technology systems for DoD weapon systems. Designs, fabricates, modifies and evaluates complicated and difficult mechanical and electro-mechanical components, sub-systems and systems. Prepares design specifications, analyses and recommendations for presentation and approval. Responsible technically for planning, organizing and conducting technical projects or phases of projects involving design and development of new or improved product and/or processes. Investigates solutions to product and/or process problems. Consolidates results of mechanical design elements for assigned projects. Provides critical test support and develops reports on findings and recommendations.

Basic Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in mechanical engineering
  • Experience with engineering software tools, including Pro Engineer or CREO CAD or tools sets, such as SolidWorks, C, MATLAB and ANSYS
  • Experience in performing engineering analysis on systems and components
  • Ability to develop and execute test plans and analyze results
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Additional Qualifications:
  • Ability to fabricate and assemble system and subsystem components, using various machines or tools
  • Ability to work in a complex team environment
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Secret clearance
