We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Shuttle Driver to join our team transporting University of Arizona students. It's a fixed route from point to point, on a 1.5 mile loop. We do not pick-up any passengers anywhere along the route and all passengers are students. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting passengers safely and efficiently, ensuring a positive experience during their journey. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to maintain a clean and well-functioning vehicle.
Shifts:
M-F- 10-20 hours per week. This position is for a relief driver- we're seeking candidates who are willing to accept additional shifts as needed and who have an open and flexible schedule. You would be third member of a 3 team driver team consisting of 1 part-time driver, one full-time driver, and you! Great for a retired person or someone with a flexible schedule looking to pick-up part-time hours. Must be 100% reliable.
Shuttle runs during academic school year. We do not operate during Thanksgiving, Christmas Break, Spring Break, or Summer.
Duties
Safely operate shuttle vehicles, including vans and buses, to transport passengers to one location.
Maintain a professional demeanor while communicating with passengers and providing assistance as needed.
Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shuttle vehicle at all times.
Report any vehicle maintenance issues or accidents promptly to management.
Provide exceptional customer service, addressing any passenger inquiries or concerns during transit.
Experience
Previous experience as a commercial driver, delivery driver, or in a similar role is required.
Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with passengers and team members effectively.
A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is mandatory; additional certifications may be required depending on the vehicle type operated.
