Delivery Driver

Merit Foods of Arizona, a Tucson-based, local, family-owned company is currently seeking responsible and highly motivated team players to work as Drivers (CDL and non-CDL).

Weekly Schedule: 4 - 5 days per week, 8 - 10 hours per day (may vary depending on number of deliveries in each route).

The driver will safely operate a box truck and manually unload and deliver various products (meats, produce, frozen foods, groceries, dry goods and supplies, etc.) to specified customer locations on an assigned route. Our drivers build relationships with each customer, using their positive, friendly attitude to meet or exceed expectations.

A typical route would include the following:

Safely and efficiently drive truck to customer delivery locations, following specific delivery times.

Ensure all items are carefully unloaded and delivered to designated customer storage areas.

Communicate in a respectful and knowledgeable manner to customers at time of delivery.

Obtain customer signature on invoice as proof of delivery.

Collect customer payment (in cash, check or money order), when necessary per customer terms.

Write credits when needed, at time of delivery, for products customer wishes to return (per our returns policy).

Communicate any issues with main office.

Remain organized throughout the route, with thorough notes about payments, credits, missing product or other issues.

Fuel and clean truck at end of route.

Qualifications:

Be at least 25 years of age, with a clean MVD record.

Be able to supply a 36-month MVD report and be insurable with our company.

Be able to pass a DOT physical and pre-employment drug screen.

Be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus!

Be able to lift, push, and move products weighing an average of 50 pounds, but occasionally up to 100 pounds.

Be able to use and understand tracking software on company provided tablet.

Understand basic truck maintenance and communicate professionally with transportation manager and support staff.

Be able to safely operate a box truck and small equipment (dolly, electric pallet jack), according to DOT laws.
