JRA Construction & Development is Looking for a Hands-On, Self Motivated and Reliable Construction Assistant that is Eager to Learn and Grow with our Company.
JRA Construction & Development is a company that focuses on ground up, new construction and remodeling construction in the local, commercial building industry. We have been in business for nearly 20 years, between Arizona, Oregon, and Washington and we are expanding due to the demand of our services in Arizona. You must be able to; arrive at work on time each day, be properly prepared with adequate (self) transportation and attire, have a positive attitude, perform the assigned tasks with integrity and practice clear communication with both our staff, as well as, other subcontractors and their staff on the job. We are looking for a team member that is an organized and forward thinker, one who is willing to troubleshoot and offer suggestions, but ultimately be willing to perform the tasks as instructed without conflict. This assistant position does require some construction experience, preferably in steel fabrication, but will also offer on the job skills training. Our company prides itself on having a high standard of quality, clear communication and always a clean and safe job site. Nothing less will be expected of this assistant position. Specific requirements include;
Must be 18 years of age or older
Must have driver’s license and insurance with clean motor vehicle report for past 24 months and Social Security Card
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening
Must provide own transportation to and from work
Must provide own work attire that meets OSHA standards (not including PPE, this will be provided by JRA as needed)
Ability to lift a minimum of 75 lbs from ground level and withstand the physical demands of construction tasks throughout the day, under all weather conditions
Must have availability for a consistent 40 hour work week
Must know how to use a manual measuring tape and level
Must have confidence in using electric hand tools to measure, cut, drill, attach, etc.
Experience and qualifications not required but considered a plus;
Ability to read blueprints
Strong customer service skills
Travel as needed for out-of-town projects
Skills operating equipment such as scissor lift, forklift, etc.
Welding experience
Compensation will be based on experience and willingness to learn, but beginning wages start at $19.00 per hour. Benefit opportunities will also be discussed as growth in the role continues.
