Great opportunity for someone wanting to get in to pest control Do not need experience. Will need great customer service skills, great work ethic, ability to be trained and a driver's license.
Total Hours Expected per Week: 40-50 hours
Days Worked per Week: Rotating schedule from Tuesday – Saturday (usually a technician will see 4 days scheduled to approximately 40 hours + 1 on-call day which may result in overtime).
Job Responsibilities below:
Achieve a high level of knowledge about herbicides and the weeds that are common to Southern Arizona.
Ability to perform basic mathematics (including multiplication and measurements) required to pass state licensing tests. Training and study assistance covered in training. Maximum three attempts to pass state licensing tests.
Achieve a high level of knowledge about the company’s programs and services – sufficient to interact with clients on a daily basis.
Independence and self-motivation required: Commonly, this employee will work alone all day. Employee should be successful be able to stay on pace through your own motivations.
Maintain physical fitness: Applying weed control consistently through the day is physically demanding; involves climbing onto tall truck beds, lifting heavy items, bending, and twisting on a regular basis.
Maintain a safe driving record: this job involves driving to client sites at various locations throughout the state, some clients in remote areas.
CDL not required. Ability to safely operate larger trucks required (example: F550 with a 900 gallon tank). Ability to safely hook up and pull a trailer required.
Ability to read a map, use GPS necessary to be successful.
Ability to remain timely throughout the day. The number of work sites per day can vary from 1 large location up to several smaller locations, and it is important to be on time to all stops morning and afternoon.
The weed control performed by our company includes: landscaped ornamental areas, roadsides, industrial sites, fire prevention, and land clearing. Most of these services are achieved through a chemical application, while others involve clearing the land of debris, weeds, and other growth. This employee should be willing to learn and understand the safe operations of small equipment involved in these processes.
