5 Points Market & Restaurant is hiring a seasoned & knowledgeable bakery manager with interest + experience in the following areas:
-Morning goods + pastry
-Laminated pastry
-Quick breads
-Sourdough
-Preservation of seasonal produce to create a larder of preserves, garnish, candy etc.
-Organic sustainably grown grains, alternative grains
L-ocal edible flora
-Simple, rustic, beautiful and clean aesthetics
-Motivational leadership skills
We’re looking for someone responsible and reliable. Someone with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and excellent time management skills who can work & communicate as part of a team but also enjoys working independently.
Job Requirements include:
-Training and management of a small team (of 1-2 other bakers)
-Bakery inventory (and placing ordering from certain vendors)
-Creatively directing and quality controlling an in-house program that produces a high volume of pastries for brunch, high volume of breads for AM+PM menus, and beautiful dessert program for evening service
-Creation of clear and replicable recipes for seasonal pastry and bread offerings
-Training other team members on quality standards and production
-Ensuring efficient communication with Kitchen Management for par adjustment and anticipation of needs
-Production of limited quantity of pre-order whole cakes ordered through an online platform.
-Seasonally rotating offerings available in set quantities for pre-order online.
-Layer cakes, morning cake, set pastry offering
-Clear and efficient communication with Kitchen Manager and FOH Managers
-Attendance of weekly management meetings
-Management of bakery facility including oversight of cleaning and organization, proper rotation of product, absolute minimization of waste, deep cleans, recommendation to management and ownership regarding equipment maintenance + purchasing.
This position is full time, which we consider to be 30-35 hours per week - with the potential for more hours needed in peak season. Health Insurance available with employer paying 50%
Starting rate of pay is $20-$25 hourly or commensurate salary DOE
