RESPONSIBILITIES:Kforce has a client that is seeking a Mechanical Engineer in Tucson, AZ.

Summary:The Mechanical Engineer will report directly to the Director of Engineering and will support new product development in the design and development of state-of-the-art microelectronic component solutions. This role will focus primarily on the design of enclosures for electronic devices housing individual or multiple semiconductor devices. The design methods may include modifications to existing hermetic metal or potted cases as well as Chip on Board configurations or newly developed methods to expand product capabilities.

Responsibilities: New Package Material/Technology evaluation Derivative designs based on existing packages Ground Up, New Package Development with customer facing requirements gathering Product Test fixture and adaptor updates for new packages Mechanical Engineer will work with outside consultants, suppliers, and contract manufacturers to identify and develop package components and assemblies Working with the Design/Process teams ensures the smooth transition of new designs into production, including supporting pilot runs and full manufacturing ramp-up Generate package drawings that go into product datasheets and evaluation datasheets As a Mechanical Engineer, you will perform Design for X (X=automation, test, manufacturing) reviews Reliability prediction simulation and analysis (COMSOL or equivalent multi-physics) Competitive analysis of other power packages in the market

REQUIREMENTS: BSME 5+ years of industry experience Solid modeling and drafting Working knowledge of Creo PTC and/or Autodesk Inventor Working knowledge of GD&T Manufacturing tooling development Rapid prototyping Machining with the ability to make minor modifications to prototypes Working knowledge of thermodynamics and thermal management in electronics/semiconductor applications Excellent technical problem solving & multi-tasking skills Data-driven with proven ability to apply scientific and engineering concepts Self-motivated with the ability to work in a dynamic environment Effective communication, interaction, and team-working skills Good task management skills and experience working with project management
