ENTRY LEVEL TRUSS DESIGNER:

We are currently searching for a Entry Level Truss Designer to join the team at our Tucson, AZ facility. The Entry Level Truss Designer performs layout and truss designs and assists with the sales of floor / roof trusses.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

· Determine design specifications based on blueprints and structural design needs.

· Interpret architectural and structural plans for proper load paths.

· Communicate with customer and sales staff on technical aspects of plans which require clarification from customer, Architect or Structural Engineer.

· Co-ordinate and consult with more experienced designer and management when more in-depth analysis is required.

· Produces floor and roof truss placement layout and truss design drawings for specific residential and commercial projects.

· Works with other engineers, designers and drafters to ensure project completion.

· Plan and pace your own work efficiency in order to meet daily, weekly, project, or team related productivity goals.

· Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

· Strong attention to detail

· General knowledge of construction industry.

· Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural blueprints.

· Knowledge of drafting, architectural design or AutoCAD applications.

· Knowledge of IBC and IRC building codes and structural loads.

· Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.

· Accuracy, timeliness, tact, self-starter, problem-solving skills, and ability to work effectively with both employees and managers.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

· Associate/bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Architectural or in the process of obtaining a Construction/CAD design related degree.

· Experience with Simpson/MiTek or other truss/engineering software is a plus.

· Two (2) years design experience.

JOB TYPE: Full-time, M-F, 7:00am-4.00pm

COMPENSATION:

· Pay range for the position will be based on experience/skill level

· Vacation available
