Peer Support Trainer - Prescott Valley

Monday through Friday

Compensation: $15.00+ to start depending on experience.

Job title: Peer Support Trainer

Will train the person hired for this position.

Assist in providing training support services in various settings from a new hire, to peer member and to community Peer Support Training, as well as, educate and provide services in advance recovery and wellness to include First Ain/CPR.

TRAINING RESPONSIBILITIES:

Live Peer Support Training (PST)

Maintains quarterly, bi-monthly and monthly Peer Support Training schedule (varies by location).

Generate training announcements/flyers and distribute to area clinics and appropriate RBHA’s 3-4 weeks prior to each training

Support local staff in reaching out to PST referrals prior to training, providing STUDENT with dates, times and location of training.

Generate Orientation handouts prior to each training and distribute to trainer(s).

Following PST Orientations, ensure Peer’s cleared status, generate training roster & send on to claims department for verification.

Entered claims in the Electronic Health Record system (EHR), following each day of training.

Submit trainees name and date of birth to the health plan on a monthly basis.

Enroll private pay (live trainees) in to the Electronic Health Record system (EHR)

- for self-pay status, submit request to Finance Department to generate training invoice and forward to respective clinic supervisor.

Prior to the Peer Support training class graduation, prepare Certificates.

Following PST graduation:

- Document Peer’s progress (graduation date) in credible profile.

- Add graduates to training log, also enter in NAZCARE database

Facilitate PST on an as needed, fill in basis.

New Hire Training:

Generate new hire training matrix and send to new hire, along with instructions for accessing initial online training (as directed by the training Manager).

Enroll new hire in appropriate trainings on training site.

Key duties and responsibilities:

Assist:

In teaching and role modeling the value of every individual’s recovery experience.

Peers in articulating personal goals for recovery through the use of one-to-one and group sessions and during these sessions support peers in identifying and creating goals and developing wellness plans with the skills, strengths, supports and resources to aid them in achieving those goals.

Peers in setting up and sustaining self-help (mutual support) groups, as well as means of locating and joining existing groups in wellness center, the community and clinics.

Peers in working with their case manager or treatment team in determining the steps he/she needs to take in order to achieve these goals and self-directed recovery

Peers in building social skills among peers to build a support network, in the community to increase a support system and build citizenship and skills that will enhance job acquisition and tenure.

Peers in developing empowerment skills and combating stigma through self-advocacy. This will be accomplished through regular meetings, individual or group sessions. Through the use of role playing/modeling techniques the PN provides opportunities for others to show/demonstrate how they have handled similar problems, how to present themselves in certain situations, or how to handle problems that may arise in interactions with others.

Other duties may be added as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

GED or High School diploma.

Free of major criminal offenses with ability to clear a background check

Pass a drug test

A valid driver’s license is required, as some driving and/or transportation is needed. This person may travel out of

town in a company vehicle to do training at other locations throughout Arizona.

If in in recovery, must be stable for over one year
