I am looking for a very special person to work my 6 and 11 year olds who have been raised in the Waldorf tradition. The hours can be flexible but I will need someone who is available approximately 20 hours per week (late mornings/afternoons are preferred but again, we can be flexible). My children have been attending Mountain Oak School until this year; I have withdrawn them because I do not approve of the changes that have been made in response to virus concerns/legalities that are way blown out of proportion in my opinion. I would like to find someone who is creative, positive, artistic, energetic, fun and not afraid of getting sick (ie, does not wear a mask and has no interest in socially distancing) to work with these beautiful beings. While there will be an aspect of academic learning involved, most of the time the nature of interacting will revolve around art projects, gardening and other outdoor tasks, cooking, singing, and more.
I am also in the process of organizing a Waldorf inspired preschool for younger children. The preschool will be in the same house as the location where the older children will work/play and I would ideally like the two groups (older children and preschool children) to interact as much as possible. This will require a good bit of collaboration between you and I so a team spirit is essential in this endeavor. It is possible that we would also need to switch roles from time to timefor example, I can teach the older children math and you could take over with the preschool for a brief time, if that is preferred by both parties. I can be flexible and am willing to work with whatever group can most benefit from my skill set, but ultimately I will need to be working with someone who is equally flexible and loving of children of all age groups.
All of this learning and playing will be taking place in a private home near Taylor Hicks Elementary. Rooms in this home are available to rent to people that have a love for children, so if you are in need of housing there is an option for this onsite. Because I will be using state funding to pay you in this project (money from the Empowerment Scholarship), it is essential that you have at least an Associate's degree in any field OR an AZ substitute teacher's certificate so that these expenses will be approved. You would also need a fingerprint clearance card and first aid training, but I will cover those expenses as part of employment. You would be an independent contractor with this work so you would need to file your own taxes. I can pay $1200/month and you would be paid via paypal directly from the state of AZ. There are also other local parents who have expressed interest in involving their children in this group; if this is the case and more children are added into the mix, you would receive additional pay.
