POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a skilled Remodeling Journeyman who is experienced and capable in all areas of residential remodeling with a strong foundation in trim carpentry and finish work. This role is perfect for a dedicated craftsman who takes pride in quality workmanship and wants to grow their skills in the luxury remodeling market.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to learn new techniques while contributing to projects that range from $150,000 to $1,500,000. You'll work alongside experienced professionals in a supportive environment that values continuous improvement and excellence.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technical Skills & Craftsmanship (70%)

Execute quality trim carpentry and finish work to luxury standards

Perform cabinet installation with precision and attention to detail

Complete light wall framing and structural modifications

Assist with rough and finish carpentry tasks under supervision

Handle basic plumbing and electrical coordination as needed

Participate in deconstruction and demolition phases

Complete final punch list items with meticulous attention to detail

Maintain quality standards that meet Sunstate's luxury market expectations

Project Support & Coordination (20%)

Work collaboratively with Lead Carpenters and project teams

Move efficiently between multiple projects to complete daily tasks

Coordinate effectively with subcontractors and other trades

Prepare daily with appropriate tools and materials for scheduled tasks

Follow project timelines and contribute to on-schedule completion

Assist with material handling and job site organization

Learning & Development (10%)

Participate in training on new techniques, processes, and skill sets

Learn and apply Sunstate standards and "The Sunstate Way" process

Develop advanced carpentry skills through mentorship and hands-on experience

Contribute to team knowledge sharing and continuous improvement

Advance skills toward Lead Carpenter responsibilities

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Arrive prepared with appropriate tools and materials for assigned tasks

Execute quality carpentry work that meets luxury project standards

Maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas

Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors

Document work progress and report any issues promptly

Assist with quality control inspections and corrections

Support team coordination and project efficiency

Maintain professional appearance and demeanor on client sites

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum 5 years experience in residential remodeling and carpentry

Proficiency in trim carpentry and finish work

Experience with cabinet installation and custom millwork

Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and plans

Valid Arizona Driver's License with clean driving record (no moving violations in past 3 years preferred)

Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds without restrictions

Smartphone with internet access for project communication

Must pass background check

Strong work ethic and attention to detail

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience in luxury or high-end residential projects

Knowledge of premium materials and installation techniques

Familiarity with project management software

Additional trade skills (tile, painting, etc.)

OSHA safety training or certification

Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish)

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

Competitive hourly wage: $24-$28/hour (based on experience and skills)

Opportunity for company vehicle and fuel allowance (performance-based)

All major tools and equipment provided

4-day work week (Monday-Thursday, 10-hour shifts)

PTO/PSTO accrued hourly

15-minute paid breaks, unpaid lunch

Overtime opportunities as needed

WORK SCHEDULE:

10-hour shifts (15-minute paid break, unpaid lunch)

Day shift: 6:00-7:00 AM start time

Monday through Thursday

Overtime available as needed
