Job Description:

Layout, prepare, erect, and assemble forms for pouring concrete.

Set, brace, and align forms in place with lumber, timbers, turnbuckles, clamps, wall ties, coil rods, etc. for use in building concrete piers, footings, and walls.

Signal operators of construction equipment (such as cranes, rigging hardware, diggers, etc.) to facilitate movement and adjustment of machinery/equipment and install building framework where needed.

Use carpentry hand tools such as hammers, levels, squares, plumb bobs, screwdrivers, adjustable wrenches, hand and power saws, drill motors and pry bars, electric and pneumatic tools.

Measure, cut, and/or shape boards, timbers, plywood, plastic, and other materials.

Install barricades as appropriate to eliminate workplace hazards.

Work efficiently, productively, and safely to meet productions goals

Dismantle, stack and sort concrete formwork.

Examine blueprints, sketches, building plans to ensure quality work.

Perform routine inspections of tool/equipment to ensure safety and quality.

Provide direction to laborers and other construction helpers

Request material needed for scope of work.

Read, understand and interpret plans and specifications as required and check work accordingly to specifications.

Maintain high level of safety and adherence to all safety policies and procedures for craft personnel and subcontractors.

Experience:

At least 2 years previous experience and/or training in the concrete industry

Must possess advanced knowledge of concrete paving, tools and equipment

Must possess in-depth knowledge of layout for footings.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong attention to detail

Ability to read and understand blueprints.

Working Conditions:

Must be able to stand, stoop, bend, and crouch for extended periods of time up to ten (10) hours per day.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, carry forms

Must work safe at all times.

Exposure to the elements heat, cold, rain, wind
