We are an AS9100 certified manufacturer of aerospace and commercial products in the west valley, with an immediate need for a shop helper/CNC operator trainee to assist in the machine shop. Job Description:
The shop helper will be responsible for basic duties required to support CNC production processes.
Duties and Responsibilities
Shop Help
Operate band saw, cold saw, cut-off saw, shear as requested.
Operate punch press
Clean machines and work area
Remove and discard metal chips from machines.
Assist with hand finishing metal parts, including cleaning and removing burrs from parts; sand, bead blast and tumble parts to be deburred.
May include assisting in the packaging of products
Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
Help out around the shop where needed and when requested
Train on becoming a CNC operator.
Skills/Qualifications:
High School diploma/GED with machinist or related manufacturing experience highly preferred.
Any technical or vocational education in relation to skills is also highly preferred
Ability to read and interpret written job instructions
Forklift experience is helpful
Basic knowledge of shop equipment including ability to use judgment and safe practices.
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
Must be punctual and dependable
Must be a quick learner and self-motivated
