Quality Control Inspector
Qualitas Machining & Automation is looking to welcome a Quality Control Inspector to the organization to transition ownership from an employee retiring at the end of the year. This position will own partnering with management to ensure quality for the manufacturing company and to build better detection and quality assurance capabilities. As a Quality Control Inspector, you will ensure quality standards are met in a variety of ways, such as inspecting incoming materials, evaluating quality of products during and after production, and ensuring shipments are packaged and shipped accurately. Additionally, you will:
Perform regular quality assessments on incoming materials, manufacturing processes, and/or outgoing products.
Measure dimensions, inspect welds, and compare final product to drawings.
Record inspection results and maintain required quality control documentation.
Recommend improvements to ensure quality control.
Ensures that identity is complete, metallurgical requirements have been met and approves part for shipment.
Assist with creating, implementing, and updating standard work and quality specifications documentation.
Recommend adjustments to the assembly or production process
Operate electronic inspection equipment and software
Report inspection and test data such as weights, temperatures, grades, moisture content, and quantities inspected
Program and use Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)
Inspects both work in progress and completed tasks for discrepancies / deficiencies in accordance with the Quality Management System documents (manuals, plans, procedures, instructions,), contract requirements, and other applicable requirements.
Inspects work in progress and completed contracted services for discrepancies in accordance with the Quality Management System documents (manuals, plans, procedures, instructions,) defined scopes of work, and other contractual requirements.
Identifies and evaluates nonconforming work and services (including contracted services and purchased materials) and issues discrepancies and/or corrective actions as appropriate.
Assists QPM in the execution of incident investigations, as required, including the collection of facts, data, artifacts, and other information related to the incident
Conducts periodic facility/building inspections to identify problems and nonconformities.
Receives and reviews shop inspection documentation packages
Work cross-functionally to assist other teams when needed.
Other Office / Machine Shop work as necessary
