Position Overview:
Are you interested in learning how to manage and schedule production for a growing company? We're a contract manufacturer specializing in plastic and metal components, working with aerospace, defense, semiconductor, and medical industries. We're looking for someone to join our team as a Production Planner/Scheduler Apprentice and support our efforts in ensuring our production runs smoothly and efficiently.
In this role, you'll gain hands-on experience in developing and maintaining production schedules, collaborating with different teams, and making sure products are delivered on time. Location: Tempe (Priest & Southern)
Shift: Full-time, Monday – Friday, 6:00 am – 2:30 pm

Key Duties/Responsibilities:
Learn to Develop Production Schedules: Work under the guidance of experienced planners to create production schedules that meet customer requirements and contract timelines.
Track Workflow and Update Schedules: Monitor the production process and update schedules as needed to avoid delays and risks.
Assist in Creating Production Workflows: Help create and distribute workflow packets that keep the production teams aligned.
Update Forecasts: Work on adjusting forecasts to ensure we meet delivery deadlines.
Solve Scheduling Issues: Learn how to identify bottlenecks and scheduling conflicts, and apply forward/reverse scheduling methods.
Help with Reporting: Assist in weekly updates of open orders and communicate any schedule changes to the team.
Expedite Orders: Track and help move parts through the production process to reduce delays.
Coordinate Across Teams: Assist with coordinating tasks and priorities between departments such as Program Management, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Engineering.
Support Production Priorities: Help keep management informed about production status and priorities.
Qualifications:
No Prior Experience Needed: We’re looking for someone energetic, and eager to learn, though any experience in production or manufacturing is a plus.
Basic Computer Skills: Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is helpful but not required.
Attention to Detail: Ability to stay organized and manage multiple tasks at once.
Problem-solving skills: A natural curiosity and willingness to solve scheduling problems as they arise.
Strong Communication: Comfortable communicating with different teams and departments.
Interest in Manufacturing: If you're familiar with basic manufacturing processes or want to learn.
