Osteria Mia is a family owned Italian restaurant and wine bar located inside of the Shops at Norterra, in North Phoenix. Our current GM is changing industries and leaving us soon, so we are looking for an experienced manager to take over day to day operations.
We are looking for an individual with experience in operating a full service restaurant. The most important attributes that we are looking for are leadership and professionalism. We have an amazing team, most of whom have been with us since we first opened over 4 years ago. We need somebody who can come in and gain the trust of the team by leading by example. We would need somebody who has held many positions in the industry, such as bartending and serving prior to management.
Duties include:
- Liquor inventory and ordering
- Creating floor plans for servers
- Expediting when our Chef must jump on the line and cook
- Helping bartenders when they fall behind on busy nights
- Guest engagement during service with table touching when there are issues
- Doing comps and voids for servers
- Nightly check-outs for servers, bussers and bartenders
- End of night closing duties such as locking doors, turning off lights and equipment, ensuring the restaurant is cleaned and stocked by bussers, and cash reconciliation.
- Scheduling servers, bussers and bartenders ( we will help the first few months with scheduling)
- Handling of our social media pages, such as posting daily on Facebook and Instagram
About Us-
Osteria Mia is owned by Mario and Kayla Rana. We are industry veterans who each have over 24 years of restaurant experience. We own 2 other restaurants, The Stetson Social and Tiki Star. We are also in the process of opening a second location of Osteria Mia in Surprise, AZ. Mario is a Chef, and creates all food menus and trains our Chef's to operate the restaurants. Kayla is the bar specialists, who has served and managed in some of the best restaurants in AZ and Chicago. We are hands on owners, but our time is split between 3 restaurants, while also making time for our daughter, Mia. This is why we employee a professional team of Chef's and FOH managers to operate our locations when we can't be there.
Wages and Hours-
We are looking for somebody who can work nights Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, and most of the day on Saturday and Sunday, with Monday and Tuesday off. The position requires between 40 to 50 hours, depending the season. We offer an hourly pay rate, plus overtime over 40 hours a week. We do have day time lead servers, so this is why we don't need a full time manager all day, everyday, and we are closed on Mondays.
