The Technologist will modify cars and trucks, perform a wide range of diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. The Technologist mentors and oversees team member’s technical deliverables to ensure Roush and customer standards are met. Roush Prototype Division works on experimental vehicles built with brand new vehicle parts. We have a large multi-hoist garage in a clean, indoor shop environment. This position is in Phoenix, AZ.As a Technologist, you will be responsible for:
Assemble, disassemble, diagnose, and repair complex electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and high voltage electrical vehicle systems using power supplies, function generators, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and OBD (On Board Diagnostics) interfacing tools
Validate products through activities such as setting up vehicles, components, or equipment for the testing of electrical, electronic, mechanical, instrumentation, or integrated systems or its' equipment
Perform complete functional inspection and prove-out of Instrumentation, Electrical and mechanical systems
Collaborate with customers, engineers and internal services to identify equipment and sensors to support testing requirements
Schedule product testing and activities with internal and external teams
To be considered as a Technologist, you will need:
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 8 years of automotive, prototype or testing experience
Experience performing electrical splicing, crimping, soldering and mechanical layout and packaging of components and systems
Ability to lead and work with different cross functional teams and have excellent organizational skills
Intermediate MS Office skills specifically with Excel, Word, PowerPoint
Ability to collect data from testing results and software and manage multiple projects
Knowledge of vehicle and component instrumentation for testing
Good mechanical skills
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification(s)
Associate degree in Automotive Technology, Engineering Technology, or related field
Experience in fabrication
Experience in high voltage, electrified vehicle systems
Knowledge of Noise, Vibration & Harshness (NVH), heat management, climate, fuel, and emissions testing
