As a Sr Advanced Aerospace Engineer here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for performing software development activities for Next Gen Flight Management System (NGFMS) products, specifically in aircraft performance and guidance functionalities. You will have the opportunity to develop and debug complex embedded software using C/C programming language. Your role will involve requirement analysis and development, software design, development, and integration, customer interaction and support, software verification and validation, and utilizing strong analytical and software development skills. In this role, you will have a significant impact on the development of safety-critical avionics software and the advancement of flight management systems. Your expertise in processes, standards, and system engineering norms, such as DO 178B/C, will be highly valued. Additionally, your experience in working on engineering flight simulation tools and system integration benches will contribute to the success of our projects. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Perform software development activities for Next Gen Flight Management System (NGFMS) products specifically in aircraft performance and guidance functionalities. Ability to develop and debug complex embedded software using C/C programming language. Requirement analysis and development. Software design, development, and Integration. Customer interaction and Support. Software Verification and Validation. Strong analytical skills & software development skills. A self-starter and passionate about solving complex problems. U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorizationYOU MUST HAVE Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace engineering or Aeronautical Engineering. 5+ years of experience in developing safety-critical avionics software. Strong programming experience in C/C. WE VALUE Experience in the development of the Flight management system software. Strong knowledge of processes, standards, and system engineering norms (e.g., DO 178B/C). Experience in working on engineering flight simulation tools and System integration benches. Knowledge of civil aviation, aircraft performance, flight guidance, and avionics. Strong mathematical and analytical skills. Knowledge of the software development lifecycle.
