Planning Intern

AECOM is seeking a Planning Intern to be based in Phoenix, AZ. This position is expected to begin as soon as possible. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:Conducting research, data reviews, and analysis to inform transportation decision-making and determine potential environmental effectsInterprets and compares findings of relevant studies for compliance with local, state, and Federal requirements, standard procedures, and client expectations.Assist with the preparation of comprehensive plans, transportation reports or memorandumsCollects a variety of technical and statistical data and assists with the preparation of reports and maps on topics, such as census information, land use, and the natural environment.Assist with GIS mapping tasks and analysis of socioeconomic, land use and development, environmental impacts, travel behavior, and transportation demand conceptsDevelop supporting figures using a variety of graphical tools including Adobe products, mapping software, Excel charts, and/or PowerPointSupport research and technical analyses on land use and multimodal planningSupports agency stakeholder and public engagement efforts.Good verbal and written communication skillsWork in a collaborative, fast-paced team environment.Assists with other duties assigned by senior staff and/or Project Managers.
