Summary Electrical Distribution Operation Center has opportunities for Operators 1-12 (1st year designation). Operators 1-12 are responsible for assisting in the safe and reliable operation, dispatching and restoration of the APS electrical distribution system as assigned. Successful candidates will be trained to perform the basic responsibilities of distribution operations including but not limited to planned and emergent switching, issuing of clearances and contact tags along with Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) managementMinimum Qualifications:The successful candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, along with 3 years of relevant business experience in the electrical distribution operations field, communications or related customer service experience.Preferred Qualifications:College level degree in electrical field or experience as a or Journeyman Lineman or Journeyman Electrician experience or other related Electric Utility experience.Selected candidates who meet the minimum qualifications will be subject to the following requirements:Pass a written aptitude exam (SO/PD)Oral interviewResume is requiredSuccessful candidates:

Must live within reasonable distance of headquarters. Reasonable distance is defined as one (1) hour for Metro and State Region locations.

Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft operating systems and the use of other computer systems, such as TOA (Total Outage application) and ADMS which are preferred

Demonstrated ability to conduct research and perform basic data analyses to troubleshoot, resolve, and effectively communicate outage issues

Have the flexibility for on-call assignments and be available to work extended hours in a 24/7 environment

Must be able to differentiate between colors

Must possess the ability to perform under stressful conditions

Have the flexibility for occasional out of town assignments

Must possess the ability to maintain focus on department objectives in order to maximize safety, customer service, reliability, productivity, and efficiency.

The established headquarters for this position is subject to relocation to the Hub West Service Center, a facility that will be located 38 miles west of downtown Phoenix, on a date to be determined by the Company

Role Type Onsite: Requires work to be performed in the field and/or at an APS facility. Employees are expected to reside in Arizona (or New Mexico for Four Corners-based employees). Role types are subject to change based on business need. Eligibility: Must live or relocate within reasonable distance to the headquarters. Reasonable distance is defined as one (1) hour for Metro and State Region locations. Reasonable distance for Troublemen, Local Representatives, and Substation Technicians is defined as thirty (30) minutes for Metro locations and forty-five (45) minutes for State Region locations.+ + For jobs in departments (System, Reliability, Hotstick) that require the majority of the work be performed out-of-town and as such, employees/crews are not required to report to the established headquarters unless directed by Leadership; the reasonable distance requirement will be waived This will not apply to Troublemen, Local Representatives or Substation Technicians.
