Find your place in risk and analytics on #TeamAmex.Credit and Fraud Risk (CFR) Risk Manager – Operational Excellence and Risk RemediationJob Description:The Credit and Fraud Risk (CFR) Operational Risk Excellence team is part of the First Line of Defense with respect to Operational Risk and Risk Strategy Remediation functionality. Within the realm of CFR Operational Risk, the Risk Strategy Remediation team (RSRT) is responsible for managing analysis and remediation of Risk Events guided by a Corrective Action Plan (CAP). The scope of RSRT work includes the ownership of the capability through which the analysis and automation is conducted. This work is complemented by a broader scope of work focused on technical and process change management with particular focus on identification of key process steps, translating business requirements to technical requirements, per and post implementation test oversight and management of change processes associated with procedures and communication.This role demands excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as the ability to identify essential data, access data, perform analysis and establish control mechanisms. This candidate will need to establish productive relationships with Credit Risk and Technology colleagues. As a part of successful partnerships with other teams, this candidate will be required to influence without direct authority and within tight timelines. The skills needed include strong communication skills, proven ability to think analytically, the ability to understand technical products, high-level understanding of Risk decision-making, Agile development approach and strong project management skills.Scope of responsibilities also includes process reengineering. Activities will include evaluating existing CFR processes to identify opportunities to optimize (simplify, automate, leverage) using technics/tools such as flow charts, FMEA and creation of control/performance specifications and SLAs.Key responsibilities:

Influence colleagues outside of team and without authority in order to deliver goals.

Manage in a challenging environment while adhering to CAP standards and milestones.

Write needs-drive High Level Business Requirements.

Clear, effective written and oral communication skills and ability to influence across all levels of the organization.Ability to create written materials that will drive insights and alignment.

Identify and optimize process improvement opportunities to create efficiencies and reduce errors.

Provide CFR Risk Remediation consultative guidance to CAP stakeholders.

Thought leadership.Use sound judgement and ability to lead without direct authority to drive positive outcomes for customers and shareholders while ensuring strong focus on regulatory requirements and expectations.

Create and deliver compelling, data-driven proposals.

Qualifications:Required

Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field such as Econometrics, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering, Business Management or Computer Science

Ability to envision ways to leverage existing capabilities and data to reduce risk events and associated risk remediation efforts.

Ability to think strategically.Apply both quantitative methods and business insights to drive results.

Flexible – Adapt to shifting priorities, multiple demands, ambiguity and rapid change.

Ability to build strong relationships in a cross-functional environment.

Strong prioritization, organization and project management skills.

Desirable

Advanced degree is preferred but not required given a suitable combination of formal education and work experience.

Credit/Fraud risk management experience and understanding of credit lifecycle is preferred.

Operational Risk knowledge and/or background is a plus.

Experience leading and influencing with, or without, direct authority

Programming experience

Experience with or strong understanding of technical development and process development approaches such as Agile, Method I or Six Sigma Design

Prior experience in process reengineering and/or Six Sigma certification is a plus

QualificationsSalary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually bonus benefitsThe above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
