This position will be located in Phoenix, AZ (Deer Valley) within the Flight Systems (FS) department. The FS Flight Controls team develops state-of-the-art flight controls for Air Transport and Regional (ATR) aircraft, Electric Vertical Take Off and Landing (eVTOL), Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV), and other cutting edge aircraft types. Customer programs include Boeing 787, COMAC C919 and ARJ21, Lilium, Pipistrel, and Textron.Primary responsibilities for this Lead Project Engineer position will be to lead a Flight Controls program, or lead a critical and complex activity within the Flight Controls program. Specific responsibilities include program planning and execution and managing program budget. Key responsibilities will include customer interaction to align internal milestones and objectives to customer commitments and schedule. This position will also require managing the program team, including both Flight Controls staff as well as other key Honeywell performing functions (PI, Platforms, ISC, Cybersecurity, etc.).Preferred candidates will have previous experience in managing Flight Controls or other related avionics programs, including key activities required for product certification (HW, Sys/SW, Verification). Candidates should have experience working with customers, managing external teams and 3rd party vendors. Experience with program management tools (ABMs, Agile, IMS) is desired. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required to interface with the customer, certification agencies, third party suppliers, global resources, and with peers such as hardware and software engineers. Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering
Minimum of 8 years of experience directly related to flight controls or avionics programs in either an engineering or program leadership capacity
Must be a US Citizen or permanent resident due to export control requirements
