- New Journey AI is looking for a highly skilled Data Center Technician to ensure that our client's data servers and network perform optimally. In this role, your duties will include installing and upgrading system components, as well as providing network support. You will also be required to perform maintenance and repairs on servers, network equipment, and asset management.
- To ensure success as a Data Center Technician, you should exhibit extensive experience in ensuring optimal efficiency of data center infrastructure. Top-notch Data Center Technicians take proactive measures to prevent loss of data and damage to networks.
- Technicians will be working directly on initiatives for new site builds: planning, coordinating, vendor management, and quality control.
- Perform preventative maintenance servers and network equipment.
- Monitoring and responding to server and network issues.
- Running hardware diagnostics and replacing failing parts in a timely manner.
- Upgrading internal system components, including CPUs, memory, hard drives, and network cables.
- Documenting processes and keeping event logs.
- Performing DC audits and inventory management.
- Working directly with project management for site builds: planning, coordination, vendor management, build, and quality control.
- 2-3 years of experience as a Data Center Technician, or similar.
- CompTIA ServerPlus, CompTIA Network+, or CCNA certification would be advantageous.
- Data technicians stand and crawl, duck, kneel, lift and move up to 40 pounds over short distances.
- In-depth knowledge of data center environments, servers, and network equipment.
- Extensive experience in installing, monitoring, and maintaining data center equipment.
- Exceptional ability to work as part of a team, provide DCOPs support, and resolve errors.
- Ability to keep up with advancements in data center infrastructure and technologies.
- Proficiency in documenting processes.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Prior experience with vendor management.
- Working knowledge of industry best practice ticketing systems such as JIRA or Service Now.
- Be part of 24/7 on-call rotation for emergency after-hours response for a duration of one week every third week.
- Required travel within Phoenix Geographical area (minimum 25%).
