Job Description: Teacher Position
Location: Temple Chai Early Childhood Center
Job Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teacher to join our Jewish Early Childhood Center.
The ideal candidate will create a nurturing, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate environment
for children 6 weeks to 4 years old. This role requires an individual who is passionate about early
childhood education, understands the unique needs of this age group, and is committed to
fostering a connection to Jewish traditions and values in a warm and welcoming setting.
Responsibilities:
Childcare and Development:
Provide attentive, high-quality care to children, ensuring their safety, well-being, and
developmental needs are met.
Implement age-appropriate activities that promote physical, cognitive, emotional, and social
development.
Monitor and document the progress of each child, sharing observations with parents and
caregivers.
Classroom Environment:
Maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages
exploration and learning.
Incorporate Jewish values, traditions, and customs into daily activities, including music,
stories, and holiday celebrations.
Use positive reinforcement and appropriate guidance to foster a sense of community and
respect within the classroom.
Parent and Family Communication:
Establish and maintain strong, supportive relationships with parents and caregivers.
Provide regular updates on student's progress, daily routines, and any concerns.
Collaborate with families to support the individual needs and growth of each child.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with fellow teachers, assistants, and administrative staff to ensure a cohesive
and supportive educational environment.
Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
Contribute to the planning and implementation of special events and programs that involve
the larger school community.
Health and Safety:
Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene protocols, including proper handling of food, toys,
and equipment.
Administer basic first aid when necessary and respond to emergencies according to the
center’s policies.
Ensure all state and local regulations regarding care are followed.
Experience and Qualifications:
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a
related field preferred.
Reggio Emilia certificate preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 6 months of experience working in a childcare setting.
Familiarity with Jewish customs, traditions, and holidays is highly desirable, but not
required.
Skills:
Strong understanding of developmental stages and appropriate care techniques.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with
children, parents, and colleagues.
Patience, creativity, and a nurturing disposition.
Ability to adapt to the changing needs of young children, and the classroom environment.
Certifications:
CPR and First Aid certification is required.
Must have/ be able to obtain a fingerprint clearance card, and meet all state licensing requirements for childcare
workers.

Job Type: Full-time and Part-Time positions available
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week (full-time) 15-20 hrs./wk Part-Time
