Small law firm seeking loyal, trustworthy, enthusiastic and outgoing legal assistant/paralegal/receptionist. Applicants must be honest, reliable, self-directed and have reliable transportation. You will be primarily responsible for answering phones, calendaring, maintaining and updating all files, including scanning, copying and distribution; provide research assistance; draft office correspondence; draft legal documents; maintain communications with courts, clients and opposing firms; provide receptionist duties; and process all incoming and outgoing mail. Must be dependable, professional, have strong communication skills, attention to detail, computer efficient, and knowledge of Microsoft Office 2003 & 2007. Fulltime/Part-Time position runs Monday through Friday. Hours are variable. Looking for someone with prior experience.
Applicants should also have the following skills/abilities:
Organization skills. Applicant should be self-motivated and able to complete tasks while engaging in self-monitoring to determine/realize when you are spending too much time on any given project;
Open and willing to ask for instructions or clarification to avoid wasting time/resources;
The ability to follow-through and complete all responsibilities without reminders;
High-quality grammar and writing skills;
Superior proof reading skills. If you cannot proof read accurately, you will be frustrated with this job;
Multi-tasking. You may be working on one project, while answering the phone on another project and responding to a memo on a third project. If you are unable to multi-task efficiently you will be frustrated with this job;
Internet researching skills are a must.
