Goal of this position

The General Manager for this location is responsible for overseeing all daily functions and employees of Frontier Family Fun, while maintaining a positive work environment through inspiring, developing, and providing a team-focused (always innovative) vision of excellence.

This position leads the creation of genuine and sincere memorable connections with our guests and is responsible for meeting and exceeding company financial results.

The General Manager Reports to the President.

Job Responsibilities

Strategy & Vision

Drive excellence in service that creates meaningful and genuine connections with guests and translates into positive social feedback commentaries and minimal formal guest complaints.

Demonstrate a confident command of knowledge regarding products and services and ensures staff knows, demonstrates, and communicates products and service to our guests confidently.

Teach the history, traditions, and education surrounding the company culture, product knowledge, and service standards through providing coaching, training, and education on a daily basis. Is an ambassador for our Historic brand.

Lead a safe, secure, and healthy facility environment by establishing, following, and enforcing sanitation standards, and procedures complying with health and legal regulations and maintaining security systems when applicable.

Team Development and Leadership

Provide a vision for the team and mentors each through development and playing an active role in acquiring new skills to better themselves in the company.

Lead a team atmosphere which welcomes new team-members and actively provides optimistic and helpful coaching from all team members.

Conduct energetic, passionate, and educational pre-shift meetings that prepare team members with the tools to provide excellence in service.

Create educational content calendars to use for consistent training for our staff.

Provide constant professional feedback to all team members to meet company service and job expectations.

Appraise employee work performance by communicating, coaching, developing, disciplining, addressing complaints and resolving problems when needed.

Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive; a team player and leader who can positively and productively impact both strategic and tactical operating and administration initiatives.

Actively encourage staff to have guests review us online by holding competitions.

Provide a positive work environment free of harassment or discrimination.

Ensure fun and energetic orientations for new team members and complete initial training in a timely and accurate manner.

Ensures staff is trained on the following but not limited to:

Proper beer pouring and waste accountability procedures

Proper and consistent phone answering etiquette

Waitlist procedures and held accountable effectiveness and accuracy

Suggestive upselling, Friends of the Family Discounts, merchandise sales and promotions

Giving exceptional customer service and ensuring that this type of service is maintained by having refresher trainings throughout the year

Operations

Update Actual sales in projection sheets and makes necessary changes to projections based daily sales trends.

Approve, review, and direct the organizing, creating, and communicating of scheduling for all departments according to past sales, trends, budgets, events and is accountable for all staffing needs

Responsible for financial accuracy of sales records, COG and labor budgets, beer, beverage, retail inventories, and all expenses through proactively researching, inputting, reviewing, correcting discrepancies, and maximizing profitability. Analyzing all sheets and metrics for accuracy and submitting them properly.

Actively be involved in the budgeting, planning, reviewing, and analyzing of each location’s financial obligations in the fiscal year.

Researching all credit card challenges from customers and reporting to DOA within the time frame posted on notice. Resolve any other guest issues and respond to outside complaints in a timely and appropriate manner.

Secure company cash. Make sure CC’s get batched daily. Maintain accurate records and cash handling procedures for all deposits, register banks and change bags. Make sure all registers and change bags have change needed to conduct business.

Control purchasing and par levels of products and supplies in a financially responsible manner without compromising quality of service and products.

Routinely audit checkouts to minimize fraudulent activity and hold staff members accountable for proper checkout procedures.

Recruit, interview, select, and retain team service oriented individuals

Ensure that new hires have gone through orientation, completed the new hire checklist process and paperwork is accurate and complete. Requires all staff to have the appropriate health and liquor certifications needed based on job code requirements.

Creates and communicates schedules for both locations and updates employee information on all programs such as When I Work, Revel, etc.

Ensure incident reports and any personnel issues are promptly recorded and reported to HR.

Ensure Separation Checklists are completed with speed and accuracy.

Maintains in communication with ownership and the management team through emails, texts or phone calls to update them on problematic issues with personnel, equipment or building repair, business needs, or needs for advice.

Sends recaps and holds staff accountable for emailing daily recaps to owners, managers and specific members of the team.

Helps create, update and review all job descriptions for every position.

Oversees expected completion and use of training materials.

Responsible for the security, organization and cleanliness of all office areas and keeping all necessary supplies stocked and replenished.

Ensures appropriate levels of lighting, music, and comfortable temperatures for our guests in the restaurant.

Continually reviews menu effectiveness by researching food costs, PPA and product mix and ensures that all menus & menu boards are updated regularly for accuracy.

Ensure the quality of food and beverages produced meet company and guest standards at all times, i.e, specification, taste, temperature and freshness. Consistency on all products as per recipe.

Togo orders carried out in a timely, accurate manner and held to the same standards of table service.

Ensure uniform and appearance are being held to company standards.

Update Side-worksheets, staff being held accountable for completing duties assigned.

Restaurants open/close properly per checklists.

Lead the cleanliness and maintenance of the facilities structure, equipment, and landscaping.

FOH/BOH shift cleanliness and sanitation held to company standard. Following company policies and standards.

Perishable product handling as per procedures.

Ensure Restrooms are cleaned, stocked and sanitized and in proper working order.

Ensure staff is taking necessary steps to reduce injuries i.e, non slip shoes, cutting gloves and proper training/supervision.

Safeguard the sale of alcoholic beverages through maintaining staff certifications, providing education and training, and is proactive about recognizing appropriate service of alcohol.

Support marketing initiatives positively and actively meets expected results.

Implement special programs i.e., wine/beer dinners, social platform advertising and paper/print ads.

Monitor online reviews and respond to customer complaints in a timely and professional manner. False or inaccurate reviews are challenged. Serious reviews are communicated to the entire staff to eliminate problems from escalating.

Assists in planning Frontier Family Fun related events, working with the marketing team and scheduling events.

Communicates retail needs and takes bi-weekly inventory on retail and sends them to Retail Manager. Ensures staff is picking up and organizing retail areas nightly.

Actively encourages staff to have guests review us online through Yelp, Untapped, TripAdvisor, Google+ and Facebook.

Work Environment

This job operates in an open setting and requires mobility inside and outside the locations. Movement is spent in high-traffic areas while performing various tasks. This position will come in contact and use heavy to light machinery used to prepare food and beverages. The position is exposed to high energy loud music levels and lowlights for long periods of time (10+ hours)

The use of a phone, computer, printer, and Point of Sales system are required.

Physical Demands

The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This position requires the ability to walk/stand and sustain physical activity for extended periods of time (10+ hours). Requires at times high and low levels of movement with the ability to reach with arms, kneel, crouch, climb, balance, and squat. Requires the lifting of items up to 50 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions

Position Type/Expected Hours and Duties of Work

Salaried position that requires a flexible schedule, often-working workdays, weekends, and holidays. Shifts include normally as early as 8 a.m. and as late as 2 a.m. and can fluctuate often. Necessary to have reliable transportation.

Experience and Education Requirements

Degree in Hospitality, Management, or Business preferred

5+ years in the hospitality industry, management role is preferred

Maintain a Food Managers Certification for Coconino County

Maintain a Arizona Title 4 Liquor Training Manager Certification

Level 1 Certified Beer Server and Certified Cicerone preferred

Dedication and undivided attention to the company's needs on all levels

Consistent record of meeting operational commitments

Restaurant marketing experience

Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively
