Type of Requisition: RegularClearance Level Must Be Able to Obtain: NonePublic Trust/Other Required: NoneJob Family: Software DevelopmentJoin General Dynamics IT and be a part of the team of men and women that solve some of the world’s most complex technical challenges.We are seeking an entry-level Software Engineer to support a Navy Military Sealift Command (MSC) project that is a multi-year cloud modernization effort to bring the Navy NOC in Pensacola, FL, into the cloud.The Navy’s Military Sealift Command (MSC) is an organization that controls the replenishment and military transport ships of the United States Navy. Military Sealift Command has the responsibility for providing sealift and ocean transportation for all US military services as well as for other government agencies.These will be remote positions with 50% travel required. We anticipate a start date by 10/1.Typical duties for you include:Assist in the design and coding of software product components, units and modules according to contract specifications.
Participates in analysis and development of test plans. Tests assigned components and units. Provides test results and recommends corrections to senior developers.
Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
Assists customers with data integration and migration efforts, including mapping schemas and defining domain specific ontologies.
Basic Qualifications:BS degree: additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree
0+ years of software experience required but the selected candidate will have solid understanding of software development lifecycle principles and practices. Some experience should have been gained through academic projects and professional experience.
Requires practical knowledge of one or more platforms and operating systems, and of programming languages such as C and C.
Typically requires knowledge of one or more systems architectures such as client/server and distributed processing.
