Synergy is hiring a manager for our exquisite organic and health-conscious cafe and wellness/metaphysical store. The business is a heart-centered, locally-owned shop with a mission to foster local economy and provide affordable access to a wide selection of bulk wellness herbs and local products, and to promote community wellness through all forms of art and music.
Now in our 6th year serving as both a cafe and a community center, Synergy has become a famous and favorite place in Sedona, remaining a strong presence for both locals and visitors alike. We have expanded into our new sister store, Apotheca, featuring hundreds of bulk herbs and local products, Le Fay Recording Studios, Synergy Communities Non-Profit (DBA of Red Earth Theater Co), Apotheca’s Listing Room, and Private Sessions Rental Room.
Our staff is a heart-centered, growing family of 12 people, currently seeking an inspirational and dedicated leader to keep the team on our strong track of success as we serve a growing customer base.
We need committed, self-motivated and congenial help. The ability to hustle with a smile is a must! Knowledge or experience in food/bev/hospitality is required for this position. Management or business experience preferred. Retail experience (displays, marketing, sales, etc…) a big plus.
Management Responsibilities Include:
Extensive knowledge and experience of your team’s positions and duties (barista and cashier)
All cafe team leadership including hiring, training, schedule and payroll hours, team communication and inspiration.
Manage inventory and orders.
Understand, communicate and implement Synergy’s systems of operations to the team and continuously keep the ship on course.
Increase revenue and mitigate financial losses. Shares in profits.
Some office filing, computer work and business organization.
Maintain beautiful merchandise displays and elegant workspace organization.
Length of Employment
This is NOT a short-term position, as the management job duties specifically require at least one month of training to get to know the business and to develop the skills needed to lead your team. We are looking for the right person person who is truly inspired by our mission and plans to stick around for at least one year, preferably two or more. Teammate longevity is essential for the whole team’s happiness and productivity on the job. Performance-based raises are given regularly, the longer you stay the greater the value and compensation. Business owner is open to sell or partner with the right employee who fits the bill and is ready to take on a new level in life. It was originally intended to be a co-op.
Benefits / Compensation:
50% off employee discount in-store during working days
35% off in store during non-working days
Discounts on use of event space and private sessions room
Profit Share - 5% Quarterly Profit Share begins after first 6 months employment
Hourly Mgmt Wages $17 - $22+ hourly (after training wages 1 month raise, 3 month raise, 6 mo, 1 year, 2 year… )
Plus tips paid out daily
Continuous wage increases with length of time employed, job performance and knowledge.
Schedule:
Approx. 30-35 hours per week 4 to 4 1/2 days. Sometimes could be more or less depending on season and circumstance.
Some schedule flexibility is a major plus.
2-4 Barista or kitchen shifts per week
1-2 Office days per week
Synergy’s Regular Hours of Operation:
Daily 9am- 6pm
Friday and Saturday open till 11pm
Occasional Event Hours - Friday/ Saturday/ Sunday nights
Sister store and events space, Apotheca is closed Tues/Wed.

Commit to at least 1 year before the training program begins, hopefully more - We do not train short-term residents especially for management.
Great attitude and customer service
Have reliable housing in or around Sedona area
Be productive while on the clock and be able to delegate and check back in.
Have the ability to give clear expectations and require accountability. Yet also be able to make corrections as needed, grounded in clear guidelines while respecting the autonomy of your teammates.

Training begins as soon as the right candidate is available. We hope to find this candidate within the week and begin training by the 2nd or 3rd week of January, which is usually Sedona’s slowest season and a perfect time to begin.
