Director of Maintenance, Part 135

Salary: DOE

Part-135 Operator, flying DeHavilland DHC-2 Beaver and DHC-3T Otters. The Director of Maintenance administers all aspects of the Aircraft Maintenance Department, assuring airworthiness and safety. This position requires a high level of expertise and experience in aircraft maintenance, and regulatory compliance.

Major Duties and Responsibilities: Ensure safe maintenance operations in compliance with all applicable local, State, and Federal regulations and Company procedures (FAA SMS Voluntary Program), assuring all aircraft are maintained in an airworthy condition. Secure and maintain current resources necessary to effectively complete maintenance work to include parts inventory, aircraft technical libraries with updated Airworthiness Directives (A.D.s) and Service Bulletins (S.B.s), maintenance tools with accurate calibrations, updated company manuals, and manufacturers’ recommendations. Ensure timely and accurate aircraft maintenance records that conform to FAA standards. Create annual budget according to maintenance needs. Pratt & Whitney tools provided; all other hand tools must be supplied by the employee.

Job Requirements:

Education and Experience:

· Meet the requirements of FAR 119.71(e)

· Minimum five years’ experience in maintaining aircraft with verifiable practical experience as an active aircraft mechanic in a maintenance organization.

· Minimum three years’ experience in a Part 135 environment.

· Current FAA Airframe and Power Plant Certification (A&P) and Inspection Authorization (IA)

· Have and maintain a valid driver’s license.

· Previous experience maintaining DeHavilland Beaver (with R985 radial engine), PT6A-34 Turbine Otters, EDO, Whipline Floats, and Aerocet Floats.

· Previous Director of Maintenance experience preferred.

· Must be on location and available every day during the summer season between May and September. Off season work includes heavy maintenance and annuals on all aircraft as needed.
