Peninsula Sleep Center is looking for a Medical Office Coordinator. You will be required to deliver excellent customer service, prioritize and accurately complete various tasks in a timely manner, while ensuring confidentiality in handling sensitive information. Ideal candidate should have strong sense of teamwork and willingness to learn and grow.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Process referrals received and schedule patient appointments
· Contact insurance companies for eligibility verification, benefits details and obtain prior authorizations.
· Answer incoming phone calls and emails and maintain a rapid response rate.
· Complete data entry in relevant systems and file records
· Perform routine clerical tasks, including retrieving charts, clearing voicemail and fax messages or re-routing calls.
· Proofread and print reports/clinical notes, send them to patients' primary care providers.
· Collect and record patient payments (cash, checks, credit card, money orders, etc.) with accuracy.
· Manage office supply inventory, maintain office space, patient areas and restroom clean and orderly.
· Dispense testing equipment, DME supplies and accessories to patients when needed.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:
· High School Diploma or GED required.
· Minimum one year of experience in medical office front desk or reception.
· 2+ years of customer service or administrative experience in healthcare field
· MA, CNA, PCA certification preferred.
· Strong communication skills, ability to interface with patients, insurance companies, vendors and others in a clear, positive, and professional manner
· Ability to operate a variety of standard office machines, including a personal computer and a variety of software programs. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, use of email, Internet.
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday.
