Peninsula Surveying, LLC is seeking a qualified candidate for the summer work season of 2021. This would be a part-time position, with the possibility of full-time employment for the right individual.

Duties would include construction staking, locating lot lines, topographic surveys, subdivision work, design surveys, and oil/gas field layout. Must be capable of working by yourself at times, as well as with a crew chief at other times.

We are willing to train the right individual, however, the ideal candidate would have experience in construction surveying or grade checking, knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, experience with RTK GPS, digital levels, and robotic total stations. The ability to read plans and understand alignments, profiles, and templates is also preferred.

Required qualifications include: clean driving record, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, the understanding of hard work, a high attention to detail, the ability to work efficiently without supervision, physically able to hike all day carrying surveying equipment, the willingness to occasionally work 12+ hour shifts.

This position would usually report to our office in Ninilchik, but would also need to be able to travel throughout the state of Alaska. This might include multi-day road trips and/or flights to villages around the state. Some projects may involve travel by small plane, helicopter, atv, or snowmachine.

Pay is hourly. A great deal of our work qualifies for Davis-Bacon wages ($65/hr). Other work will be paid DOE, with a baseline of $25/hr.
