The Saxman-Ketchikan Senior Center is looking for a motivated individual to serve as the Outreach Coordinator/Driver! This position will work on senior outreach, activities development, and transportation.
This position will be expected to outreach to individual seniors to engage with them about how they are doing and educate them on the benefits of the center meals and activities, survey seniors on their needs and interests, build partnerships with community organizations and individuals interested in offering activities at the senior center, organize and schedule activities, provide transportation to seniors according to ADA requirements and Older Americans Act, assist passenger into and out of vehicle and insure seat belts are fastened and wheelchairs secured, provide door-to-door assistance, deliver meals to homebound seniors, fuel vehicle, maintain ride and mileage records and driver logs, perform pre-trip inspections, and report any maintenance needs to supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have Alaska driver's license and a good driving record for the past 18 months and no DUI or reckless driving for the past three years. Prefer experience working in the human service field. Experience with senior citizens and/or persons with disabilities is preferred. Experience with routine vehicle maintenance is desirable. Must be 21 years of age. Background check required. CDL and drug testing not required.
This position is Full Time, 37.5 hours/week, approximately 9am-5pm Monday through Friday. Starting wage is $25/hour.
