About Us

Do you have some extra time on your hands? Do you enjoy helping senior citizens? Are you a team player looking for a challenge? The Craig/Klawock Senior Center provides much needed services to the elders of Craig and Klawock by providing nutritious meals in the center and in their homes. The Craig/Klawock Senior Center also provides transportation to the community’s elders to keep them active in the community and to help them meet their day-to-day needs. Substitute Cook: Duties include relating to staff, participants and volunteers in a positive manner; preparing meals according to senior nutrition program guidelines; and maintaining a clean, sanitary kitchen according to Alaska food service regulations. Prior industrial kitchen experience preferred but we will train. Must obtain State Food Worker's Card within 10 days of hire. $15/hour

Substitute Assistant Cook: Duties include preparing dining room for noon meal; assist in serving meals to participants; assist in maintaining a clean and sanitary kitchen; assist with the bagging of home delivered meals; other duties as assigned. Prior industrial kitchen experience preferred but we will train. Must obtain State Food Worker's Card within 10 days of hire. $13/hour

Substitute Driver: Position requires safe and legal driving of CCS vehicles, providing door-to-door escorts to clients, assisting passengers using wheelchairs, and supporting clients that may have cognitive impairments. Applicants must have an Alaska driver’s license and a good driving record for the past 18 months and no DUI or reckless driving for the past three years. Experience with senior citizens and/or persons with disabilities are preferred. Experience with routine vehicle maintenance is desirable. $14/hour

Substitute Site Manager: duties include meal, transportation and support services, preparing program reports, supervising staff and volunteers. Excellent communication skills, the ability to work independently and operate basic office equipment, including a computer, required. Previous supervisory experience preferred. Knowledge of food service practices and strong interpersonal skills required. $19/hour
