Carpenter / Foreman

A Carpenter Foreman is an experienced construction worker in Carpentry's craft and is charged with organizing a particular project's overall construction. A Foreman exercises control over the construction crew, and is the project manager’s “keystone” of their construction projects.

Role is Accountable for:

 Layout work and organize work crews. Directly lead tasks and ensure crew members are accomplishing tasks correctly and on time.

 Reviewing plans for new projects, completing material take-offs for and communicating daily material requests to Purchasing for ordering.

 Monitoring delivery schedules of daily materials to confirm arrival at the work site to ensure uninterrupted work flow

 Receiving materials and verifying quantities are adequate per work plan

 Maintaining on-site materials and resources in an orderly manner

 Assigning daily work tasks to journeymen and apprentices

 Ensuring man-hours meet labor targets.

 Providing feedback to the Superintendent and PM on the performance of field personnel.

 Submitting detailed and accurate daily reports

 Completing redline drawings on a daily basis to ensure updated drawings are available at the work site.

 Coordinating work to be performed with General Contractor and other Sub Contractors and reporting to the Project Manager any project or schedule conflicts or potential changes.

 Ensuring work performed conforms to work plans, specifications and industry standards.

 Planning for the receiving and installation of prefabricated component sections

 Ensuring work is performed safely and professionally in accordance with company policies and procedures.

 Conducting safety meetings and tool box talks.

 Training and development of identified team members into progressively more responsible team roles.

 Perform other tasks as assigned by the Superintendent or Project Manager
