JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Security Director at Denali Universal Services (DUS) the Security Captain provides direction and leadership to a workforce that performs security and infrastructure support services for a major oil company client. The leadership functions are performed in compliance with the contract's scope of work, DUS policies, post orders, and other applicable guidelines. The Captain manages the workforce, issues tasks and post assignments, performs administrative tasks such as payroll reports and evaluations, conducts training, and governs responses to emergency and non-emergency situations. This is a rotational position on the North Slope and the anticipated start date is June 2021.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver’s License
- Five (5) years of law enforcement, related military experience, or industrial security experience with at least three (3) years in a management/supervisory role
- Possess, or be able to obtain a State of Alaska Armed Guard License
- Must be able to pass the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including drug screen, criminal background investigation, and post-offer physical/fitness for duty evaluation
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior work history in a harsh winter climate and/or remote location
- Prior work experience in the oil and gas industry

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
The employee will be required to live and work in a remote and confined workspace for extended periods of time and exposure to work assignments consisting of twelve-hour days and able to work day or night shifts as required. The majority of the work is performed in a remote setting with a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities and abilities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee’s work requires routine walking, standing, bending and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds. There is a lack of immediate access to critical medical services as well as urban community services.
