Shop Assistant – Join Our Team at Riverboat Discovery & Gold Dredge 8
Are you handy, hardworking, and eager to be part of a team that keeps Alaska’s premier attractions running smoothly? We’re looking for a Shop Assistant to support our facilities across Steamboat Landing, Chena Village, and Gold Dredge 8.
As a Shop Assistant, you’ll work alongside our President, Maintenance Manager, Operations Manager, and Grounds Crew to keep our buildings, boats, and grounds in top shape. From seasonal start-up in the spring to fall shut-down—and everything in between—you’ll play a vital role in keeping our operations running strong.
What You’ll Do:
Assist with the upkeep of facilities, boats, and grounds across multiple locations.
Support seasonal projects, including spring start-up and fall shut-down.
Pitch in on maintenance projects as directed by leadership.
Work closely with a collaborative team to keep Alaska’s history and heritage alive for visitors from around the world.
Schedule:
Busy spring + summer season, with slower-paced fall + winter.
Weekends and overtime expected during peak season and start-up/shut-down periods.
Off-season: Monday–Friday, standard 8-hour workdays.
In-season: one weekend day required.
Compensation & Benefits:
$21–$23 per hour DOE
Annual performance bonus (up to 12% of base salary)
