Fairbanks Sleep Center is seeking a full-time Front Office Coordinator for our busy medical office. We are a full-service sleep disorders center dedicated to serving the community with unparalleled patient care. Our staff is devoted to providing knowledge, caring, and understanding to all of our patients.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Process referrals received and schedule patients for consultations, sleep studies, and DME services.

Contact insurance companies for eligibility verification, benefits details and obtain prior authorizations.

Answer multi-line phones and emails in a professional manner; communicating appropriately and effectively (written and oral) with patients, coworkers, and the general public.

Proofread and print reports/clinical notes, send them to patients' primary care providers.

Book hotel/car rental reservations for traveling providers.

Collect and record patient payments (cash, checks, credit card, money orders, etc.) with accuracy.

Manage office supply inventory, assist with tidying up office space, bedrooms and restroom.

Answer a high volume of calls and emails and maintain a rapid response rate.

Complete data entry in relevant systems and file records

Perform routine clerical tasks, including retrieving charts, clearing voicemail and fax messages or re-routing calls.

Dispense home sleep testing equipment, DME supplies accessories when needed.

Perform periodic deliveries to other clinics on an as-needed basis.

Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:

High School Diploma or GED required.

Minimum one year of experience in medical office front desk or reception.

2+ years of customer service or administrative experience in healthcare field

MA, CNA, PCA certification preferred.

Strong communication skills, ability to interface with patients, insurance companies, vendors and others in a clear, positive, and professional manner

Ability to interpret and respond clearly and effectively to spoken requests over the phone or in person, and to verbal or written instructions.

Ability to operate a variety of standard office machines, including a personal computer and a variety of software programs. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, use of email, Internet.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to multi-task and work independently in the absence of supervision.

Work Hours: Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm.
