About us:

Running Reindeer Ranch is a family-run agro-tourism business based out of our home in the Goldstream Valley, north of Fairbanks. We offer walking, natural history tours and other various immersive experiences with our reindeer to visitors from all over the world. We are seeking a year-round tour guide and support person to join our incredible team of hard-working employees.

Duties:

Conduct natural history, walking tour with reindeer

Create a quality, 5-star customer experience

Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Tour preparation and clean up including snow removal and trail maintenance

Feed, water, clean up after reindeer and general reindeer husbandry

Training reindeer

Ranch, garden, lawn care, general maintenance, etc.

Other various duties as needed

Qualifications:

Excellent communication skills

Excellent public speaking skills and ability to project voice in an outdoor environment

Creative thinker and ability to improvise and shift gears as needed

Positive attitude and pleasant demeanor

Ability to engage large groups of people

Hard work oriented and capable laborer

Large animal experience preferred

Ability to assert yourself with bossy reindeer

Willingness to deepen knowledge of reindeer and all things Alaska through literature and other educational opportunities.

Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Able to lift 50 pounds

Other:

We do not accept tobacco users. Tattoos should be concealed when guests are present. Must be willing to work and able to dress for work outside in ANY weather. Must be in excellent physical shape and able to walk uphill and perform hard physical labor.

Hours:

Part time, year-round, permanent position. Hours vary depending on day and season but will include weekends and evenings on occasion. Typically, 20-40 hours a week depending on the season.

Pay:

$17 - $20 / hour, depending on experience, pay raise after probationary period
