Job Description:
The Fleet Manager is responsible for:
1. Planning Daily Transportation Logistics
2. Directing staff in transportation, customer service, and vehicle care.
3. Managing staff needs, schedules, and hiring for any needed positions. Analyzes and resolve problems, interprets company policies (in relation to HR policies, resource management, and fiscal management), provides direct supervision, training, and disciplinary conversations with shuttle drivers and arctic circle drivers.
4. Supervise fleet service through third party vendors.
5. Driving: cover shifts as needed.
Job Requirements: May involve frequent bending, moving, lifting, and carrying material weighing up to 50 pounds; some positions may involve moving, lifting, and carrying material weighing up to 70 pounds; standing up to eight hours each day; working in all weather conditions. We are looking for an individual who is capable of prioritizing several demands at a time, who is customer service oriented, and who has a passion for Alaska. This person must have demonstrated leadership and prior management experience, strong oral and written communication skills, be proficient with computer systems including but not limited to Microsoft Word and Excel, and be able to grow and maintain a positive team. This person must have a long history of Alaskan driving.
Note – this role is combined with driving shuttles! This person must be a ‘working’ manager.
Active Alaska Drivers License & 5 years clean driving history is required for this position.
Rate of Pay: $4500/month
