Painter/ Blaster - Big Lake, AKDescriptionSummaryNANA Construction is seeking an Industrial Painter to aid in the preparation, cleaning, and coating of steel infrastructure. The Industrial Painter will oversee cleaning and preparing the steel per contractor, client, and manufacture specifications. Hand sand blasting and power tool cleaning methods will be used often, as well as operating automated blasting equipment, such as centrifugal wheel blasting.Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Comply with all company and regulatory safety policies.

Safely prepares equipment and worksite daily.

Clean, prep and paint steel structures in a professional manner using spray application.

Ensures that assigned tasks are performed safely with the highest level of quality.

Prepare, mix, and apply paint to manufacture and client specifications.

Keep data records of blasting and coating reports.

Communicate with Front Line Supervisors on areas such as safety, quality, and integrity.

Ensure that work results conform to client specifications and schedules.

Immediately report all Incidents/Accidents, no matter how small, to their Supervisor.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success may also be assigned.

QualificationsQualifications

High School Diploma or GED equivalent or relevant experience in Industrial Blasting and Coating preferred.

Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under company vehicle insurance policy preferred.

Participate in daily tool box meetings by either offering productive feedback and occasionally leading the meeting.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form, deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Be willing to learn as well as mentor others in regards to work task completion. Committed to keeping oneself and those around safe at all times, including stopping work if unsafe conditions arise.Be able and willing to perform other duties and job functions.
