Carpenters Helper, Rotational – Big Lake, AK – In-Region NANA Shareholder hiring opportunityDescriptionSummaryThe Carpenters Helper assists the construction crew with constructing modules in a Fabrication Facility helping frame walls, floors, and roofs, install sheetrock and wall sheathing, interior trim, cabinetry. Carpenters’ helpers will help with maintaining cleanliness throughout the shop and within the modules. This position operates in a commercial construction environment.

This is a rotational opportunity located at the Big Lake headquarters. Housing and transportation provided.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Use a tape measure to measure and mark materials .

Listen and retain directions from Carpenters being assisted to ensure timely project efficiency.

Lift and carry sheetrock, plywood, and other building materials.

Learn and utilize all safety guidelines required by the work site

Applies caulking compounds by hand or with caulking gun to seal crevices.

Immediately report all Incidents/Accidents, no matter how small, to their Supervisor.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit’s success also may be assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalent or relevant work experience will be considered.

Minimum six (6) months related experience preferred.

Good understanding of basic construction tools, processes, and procedures.

Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under company vehicle insurance policy preferred.
