Job Description:

The NISC IV program at Leidos is seeking a Business Process Analyst to support the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Western Service Area (WSA) Environmental, Occupational Safety and Health (EOSH) Support Center (ESC) - Team C, EOSH Services Operations Group (ESOG) with development and review of written program plans for each Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) program area.

The candidate is responsible for analyzing and measuring the effectiveness of existing business processes and developing sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable business process improvements. Duties include researching best business practices within and outside the organization, collecting and analyzing process data to initiate, develop and recommend business practices and procedures that focus on enhanced safety, increased productivity, and reduced cost. Duties may include determining how new information technologies can support reengineering business processes.

Primary Responsibilities:

The candidate selected will assist with developing program plans and documents and communicating effectively to Western Service Area EOSH stakeholders for each OSH program area.

Specific tasks will include:
  • Assist with technical writing and editing activities associated with SOPs (Standard Operating Procedure), Program Plans, Quarterly Program Updates, and other program documents.
  • Provide periodic reviews of Service Area written programs.
  • Provide routine procedural reviews for changes to internal procedures as a result of changes in safety and health regulations and/or FAA directives.
  • Develop sustainable document data control and archiving for F&E OSH program items.
  • Assist with the distribution and flow of EOSH-related communications containing pertinent and relevant EOSH information through newsletters, FAA Today, EOSH Knowledge Sharing Network (KSN)/SharePoint, and other internal sites.

Please Note: Depending on the customer needs. One can work virtually/remote or in a near FAA facility. Candidate selected must be from one of the Western Service Area locations. The Western Service Area locations are:Alaska, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, OR Washington.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills):
  • Proven experience working in a technical writing position, and able to write in explanatory and procedural styles for multiple audiences.
  • Working knowledge and proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office applications to include: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Office and MS PowerPoint.
  • The position requires the candidate to travel approximately 10% within the Western Service Area.
  • Ability to obtain Public Trust Security clearance.
  • Candidate selected must have a BA degree and 4+ years of prior relevant experience OR a Masters degree with 2+ years of prior relevant experience OR additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) program areas is desired.
  • The candidate must have strong ability to communicate well orally and possess excellent writing skills to various levels of management, including data presentations through charts, graphs and MS PowerPoint.
  • Candidate must have strong organizational skills, seasoned interoffice management skills, and sharp ability to easily multi-task in a multifaceted, complex work environment, and assist with meeting changing schedules and deadlines for action items.
  • The selected candidate will have highly developed presentation skills, self-motivated and proactive team player, and excellent written and oral communication skills.
