Summary of Position: The purpose of this position is to serve Seniors, perform general office duties, and carry out other office related duties. This position includes fundraising activities, like cold calling, generating flyers, donations, social media and helping with events. The position ensures the goals of WASI are achieved.

General Office Duties include, but are not limited to:

Use of general office machines - computer, fax, shredder and copier.

Use of Microsoft Office Suite of programs including Word, Excel, Publisher and Outlook on a daily basis.

Answer multi-line phone system, answer questions, transfer calls and take messages.

Assist visitors and Seniors at the center and telephonically, explaining available programs and services provided by WASI or other groups at the center, and referrals to other providers.

Assist Seniors with completion of various forms and applications including annual online PFD applications.

Receive payments for various services and donations.

Check- in/out Mobility Equipment Loans.

Prepare and post outgoing mail.

Update daily activity dry erase board, weekly meeting and coverage calendar, and monthly activity calendar. Manage facility rental and office calendars in Outlook.

Prepare posters, flyers, and announcements to membership and make lunch announcements when necessary.

Assist Directors and Program Managers with various filing, data tracking, word processing, and other tasks as necessary.

Errands as needed in company vehicle.

Other duties as assigned.

With the Assistant Executive Director:

Track volunteer hours.

Assist with annual Volunteer Thank You Breakfast.

Assist with donor and grantor correspondences as instructed.

Assist in event planning and implementation.

Assist with cold calling events

Assist with fundraising activities.

Assist with social media postings.

Qualifications

Skills and Abilities Required:

Provide and maintain a valid State of Alaska driver’s license and clean driving record.

Must Pass an Alaska Background Check (and remain eligible to do so).

Must Pass a Drug Test as assigned by WASI and remain free of intoxicating or illegal substances at work.

Ability to manage time effectively.

Ability to work well with and receive instructions from multiple people.

Ability to interact positively with Seniors and their family members, workplace professionals, and community members.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher, etc.).

Attention to detail and good verbal and written communication skills.
