Job Opportunities:

Administrative Assistant in Anchorage with the Child Care Assistance Program. Relief (on-call) position available to provide a high level of detail, excellent customer service and exceptional follow-thru. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent and one year of successful work experience. Knowledge of general office practices and computer experience. Preferred Qualifications: Associate’s degree and/or certification in office management and two years successful work experience in an office environment.

Advocate in Palmer for the DVSA Shelter. Relief positions available. Responsibilities include providing support, assistance and advocacy to the women and their children residing at the shelter. Minimum Qualifications: Associate’s degree in appropriate area, or high school equivalency with one year successful work experience. Preferred Experience: Two years’ work experience or extensive volunteer experience with crisis intervention, domestic violence and sexual assault.

Competent Professional Authority (CPA) in Wasilla for the WIC Program. Part time position available to provide WIC basic nutrition services and clerical support. Minimum Qualifications: High school equivalency and additional training to include the successful completion of (or the ability to complete within 12 months) the State of Alaska WIC Competent Professional Authority (CPA) Certification Exam. One year’ successful work experience. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Health, Nutrition or related field plus WIC CPA certification. One year’ successful work experience in a WIC program or other public health field.

Eligibility Technician in Anchorage with the Child Care Assistance Program. Full time position available to include scheduling and conducting parent interviews for program eligibility, determining subsidy level and eligible/available funds. Create and maintain accurate and timely files for clients. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent and two years of successful work experience in a related field. Preferred Qualifications: Associate's degree with one year of successful work experience in a related field.

Family Contact Facilitator in Palmer/Wasilla for the Family Support and Preservation Program. Full time position available to provide parent coaching and feedback for family time that takes place in a “home-like” setting. Minimum Qualifications: Associate’s Degree in Education, Social Work, Sociology or related field. One year successful experience in family issues including; parenting support, parent education, child development, child management, child abuse including sexual abuse and neglect, crisis intervention and domestic violence. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and one year additional experience in family mediation, proven parenting support services and a clear understanding of high-risk family dynamics.

Group Facilitator in Wasilla with the Family Violence Intervention/Domestic Violence Sexual Assault Program. Part time position to facilitate groups in accordance with current CDVSA and DOC program standards. Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent and completion of an approved forty (40) hour training on domestic violence, sexual assault and batterers’ intervention. Background in the behavioral health/ social services field and thorough knowledge of the dynamics of domestic violence required. One (1) year successful work or volunteer experience in group facilitation. Preferred Qualifications: Associate's degree in human services or related field and two (2) years’ experience in group facilitation.

Mental Health Clinician in Wasilla for the Behavioral Health Treatment. Full-time or Part-time positions available. Responsibilities will include providing therapeutic services to clients. Conduct mental health/substance abuse screening, assessment and treatment services to clients within various treatment modalities. Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in a behavioral health field and one year of behavioral health experience. Preferred Qualifications: Alaska licensure and/or CDC certification with two years of behavioral health experience.

Shelter Supervisor in Palmer for the DVSA Shelter. Full time position available to assist with the supervision of emergency shelter staff and ensuring the effective execution of domestic violence and sexual assault services to shelter residents and nonresidents, including the 24-hour crisis line. Develop, implement, and supervise life skills and support groups. Create and manage case plans that are responsive to the needs of all shelter participants. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in appropriate field and one year successful work experience in a residential setting and one year case management experience. Preferred Qualifications: Two years successful work experience in a residential setting and one year successful experience in case management as a shift supervisor.

Special Santa Program Coordinator. Seasonal, temporary position available to conduct a successful Christmas gift collection and distribution campaign. Activities include collection, purchase and distribution of gifts, soliciting donations, volunteer recruitment and coordination, and coordinating and executing fundraising events, such as Halloween Hallow, Festival of Trees, etc., to support the program. Must be available to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.

Qualifications: Associate’s degree or equivalent working experience and one year’ experience working with a fundraising campaign. Prior volunteer experience with the Special Santa Program strongly preferred.

Store Associate in Palmer at Families First Treasures Thrift Store. Part time position available to assist the store manager in the daily operations of the second-hand store including working as a retail sales person, operating cash register, assisting customers, handling, washing, sorting, displaying and pricing all donated articles and clothing. Keep store clean and secure. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent and successful work experience. Two (2) years retail sales experience and/or secondhand store experience preferred.

Substance Abuse Counselor in Wasilla for the Behavioral Health Treatment Center. Full time, part time or relief positions available to provide substance abuse treatment services in an outpatient program. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field, or equivalent experience. One year of experience in substance abuse counseling. and the ability to become a Qualified Addictions Professional within three years (achieve a minimum certification as a CDCII, BHAII or NCACI). Must be eligible to enroll as a provider in Alaska Medicaid. Preferred Qualifications: Current certification as a CDCI or higher. Master’s Degree in Counseling, Human Services or related field.
