Our midtown law firm is looking for a self-driven and competent account / collection representative to join our team. As a account / collection representative, your main responsibility will be to contact consumers, set up payment plans for pre-existing judgments or pre-suit claims, collect missed and outstanding payments and transfer accounts for legal action. Clerical duties such as sorting incoming mail, scanning and uploading documents will accompany this position. We are expecting a professional, trustworthy individual who can work independently and/or with a team.
NOTE: Must have reliable transportation and be able to be consistently in the office 5 days a week from 8:30 - 4:30 Monday - Friday.

Responsibilities:
Monitor accounts daily
Identify outstanding account receivables
Investigate historical data for debts & judgments
Take actions to encourage timely payments
Set up and monitor payment plans
Act as a liaison between clients, consumers and attorney
Resolve billing issues
Contact consumers and discuss overdue payments
Update account status records
Prepare and present reports on collection activities and progress
Prepare and send monthly reminder / collection notifications
Keep up with daily tasks generated by database
Qualifications:
Previous experience in accounts receivable, collections or a similar field preferred
Excellent knowledge of billing procedures and client specific requirements (will train)
Working knowledge of MS Office and databases
Strong negotiation skills
Deadline and detail-oriented
Knowledge of collection laws and regulations (will train)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Problem solving and critical thinking skills
Organized / detail oriented
High school diploma
Must not have a criminal record and be able to pass a background check and potential drug screening.
Must have reliable transportation and be able to work 5 full days per week, 8:30 – 4:30.
No medical or dental offered at this time. IRA offered with 3% employer match. Potential for commission on top of base salary.
