Position Summary: The dental assistant is the extended hand of the dentist and a vital member of the dental health professional team. Job duties include setting up the operatory for each patient, greeting and seating patients, preparing the patient for the dental exam or treatment, making accurate chart notes in Dentrix, performing x-rays, assisting the dentist in all dental procedures, and educating patients in dental hygiene, post-operative care, and fillings, etc.Work Experience: Graduation from an accredited school in dental assisting or one-year experience as a dental assistant required, three years preferred. Experience with dental front desk preferred. Working knowledge of computer required. Previous experience with dental software preferred. Education, Certification and Licensure: Graduation from high school or equivalent, preferred. Must have and maintain a current Basic Life Support (CPR) certificate. Additional Skills and Knowledge: Bilingual preferred.
